2018 Seasonal Job Fair

The Quincy Park District will host a Job Fair to fill summer part-time positions on March 8 at the QPD Administrative Office, 1231 Bonansinga.

 From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., applicants, 16 years and older, will complete an application and short interview for various Recreation part-time seasonal positions with the District.

Fishing Program Coordinator 

We are seeking an individual knowledgeable and interested in fishing instruction for youth.  This position will coordinate and run the Fishing Clinics, Fishing Rodeo event, and fishing field trips held by other park district programs.

The Fishing Program Coordinator will decide what areas will be covered in the Fishing Clinics, and provide general instruction and support for a group of children.  Fishing Clinics begin with small lesson about fishing(eqiupment, practices, types of fish), and then use the remainder of time to actively fish the lake.  There will be a few staff members working under the Fishing Program Coordinator to assist with instruction and for general help.  This individual will also be involved in the maintenance and inventory of fishing equipment.  

This is a perfect position for a retired individual or teacher who has the summer off and has a love for fishing.  Fishing Clinics take place Tuesdays and Thursdays and will run from June 5th - July 19th. The FIshing Rodeo takes place June 16th.

We are hiring staff for our summer Fishing Programs that take place June 5 - July 19.  These positions will assist the Fishing Program Coordinator in runing the Fishing Clinics, Fishing Rodeo event, and fishing field trips held by other park district programs.

Fishing Program Staff will be the front line staff during the fishing programs and will work directly with youth to assist with fishing related activites.  These staff members will help bait hooks, assist with casting, general assistance, and minor maintenance of fishing equipment.  Fishing Program Staff will directly follow the directon of the Fishing Program Coordinator.  Fishing Clinics take place Tuesdays and Thursdays and will run from June 5th - July 19th. The FIshing Rodeo takes place June 16th.

Lifeguards

We are hiring Lifeguards for the 2018 summer season for our outdoor aquatic facility, Indian Mounds Pool.  Lifeguards must be certified and provide proof of certification upon employment.  

Lifeguards at Indian Mounds Pool are in charge of ensuring a safe and family friendly enviroment for all guests.  This zero-depth entry pool features a diving board, waterslide, ADA lift chair, small frog slide and geyser water features.  Lifeguards will also have opportunities to teach youth swim lessons. Indian Mounds Pool is open late May through mid August.  Scheduling is on a monthly basis, based on availability and can be flexable given enough advance notice.

After-School Program - Substitute Leader

We are now hiring Substitute Leaders who have a passion for child care and learning for the After-School Program held at Dewey and Ellington School.  

The Substitute Leader position will help lead a group of students through their daily activities which include snack time, homework assistance, craft time and gross motor.  After-School Program Leaders will interact with the children as the front line staff in the After-School Program at Dewey or Ellington Elementary School. Shifts are Monday - Friday for about 2-3 hours after school is released for the day.  Substitutes are scheduled on an as needed basis.  Most subs average 1-3 shifts per week.

Scorekeeper

We are now hiring scorekeepers for the 2018 Little League Baseball program.

Scorekeepers are in charge of keeping track of pitches and plays during the game, and updating the scoreboards to reflect the current game.

Umpire/Referee

We are now hiring Umpires and Referees for the 2018 Little League Baseball program, Youth Soccer and Sand Volleyball.

The Umpire/Referee closly watches the game to ensure that rules are adhered to and to make calls and decisions based on the game.
